Another important aspect of talking to women is to know when to make a quick graceful exit. The first conversation that any guy has with a girl should end with her wanting more of it. To do that you got to keep the conversation SHORT! A common mistake many men make is to over extend their stay. With most guys if the flirting is going well, they’d be thinking… Wow! This is going better than I thought it would. And that’s literally where the mistake lies… they’ll keep talking and talking and talking till the woman gets bored and she’ll make an excuse to leave! Guys! DON’T MAKE THIS MISTAKE! Take your leave after you’ve got her phone number and or email address.
Do NOT wait till a dynamic and animated conversation slide into an uncomfortable silence before you take your leave. If you do that then the effect of the earlier conversation will be lost. Learn to read the direction the conversation is heading and take your cue from there. The best time to exit is when she is comfortable and appears to be very interested in your conversation. This is the time she is most likely to part with her email address or phone number.
Give her some excuse that you need to be on your way and would like a means to contact her. Once you’ve got her contact information, bid your good bye and end the conversation. REMEMBER: You’ve got to leave her wanting MORE!
Let us revisit Brad and Tanya’s conversation again:
“Tanya, it’s been great talking to you but I really have to run or I’ll be late for my next appointment. Looks like the bank draft will have to wait but I’d really like to continue this conversation we are having here. Do you have a phone number or email address where I can reach you? Then maybe we can continue this conversation here over coffee or maybe dinner” Brad asked.
“Hmm… We could do that. Anyway, here’s my business card. It has my cell number and email address in it. It has been nice talking to you too, Brad. See you around!” Tanya said as they shook hands and bid each other good bye.
What happened here was Brad decided to exit from the conversation at the point when the going is smooth and Tanya is in the frame of mind to part with her contact details. Take note that she did not hesitate to give him her contact details neither did she turn down his offer for coffee or dinner. Armed with her cell number, he can always arranged for a date and pick up from where they left off at the bank.
