- Character Traits
- Occupations
- Hobbies / Interestsand so forth in addition to what they’re looking for in a partner.For the sake of space, ads are written in abbreviated style. A sample ad might read :

SWM or SHM 33-43 y.o. attr. Prof. for fun activities and poss. LTR, N/STranslation
Attr – Attractive
SWF – Single White Female
Blu/bln – blue eyes and blonde hair Athletic – body build
SWM or SHM – single white male or single Hispanic male
33-43 y.o – 33 to 43 years old and desiged age range
prof – professional
Poss. LTR – possible long term relationship
N/S – no smoking
A – Asian
B – African-American or Black
C – Christian
D – Divorced
G – Gay
J – Jewish
L – Lesbian
N/D – Non-Drinker or No Drugs
VGL – Very Good LookingA quick way to screen ads is to mark the things that are important to you. First mark those with the preferred age; no sense wasting time on those who aren’t in the age category you prefer. Then scan for other important details such as; ethnic preferences, cultural or social interests, hobbies, and physical traits. Mark ads that seem compatible with your wants and desires.
Be sure to respond to ads that are congruous to your lifestyle. For example, if an ad reads : seeking someone who’s wealthy and likes to travel. Don’t respond unless those 2 qualifications truly apply to you.
